Highline Internet is reflecting on their accomplishments in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as the construction season gets underway in 2025.
The ISP, which has a six-state footprint, plans to lay roughly 1,400 miles of fiber optic cable this year, according to Highline’s recent announcement.
The new cable will serve “unserved and underserved homes and businesses,” according to Bruce Moore, the company’s COO.
Highline plans to celebrate continued construction this June, with their Annual Construction Kick-Off Party.
The company will also celebrate attaining the recent milestone of connecting 7,000 customers in the Upper Peninsula, the release stated.
Highline crews have braved “tough terrain and weather to bring reliable, gigabit-speed internet to rural communities,” according to Highline.
“This effort helps power critical access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity across the region,” the company’s release stated.
With the recent work, the ISP says they’re on track to serve 50,000 customers by 2027.
For those interested in attending Highline’s construction kick-off, the event will be held June 5, at 3:30 p.m. at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris.
