MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Shawnee, Kansas, which is located right outside of Kansas City, will soon see Google Fiber expanding into its community. Google chose Shawnee for expansion based on its Internet vision. Recently, the city modernized its website, so that locals can easily access city info—from crime maps to fiscal reports to streamed audio of city council meetings.

Google Fiber is still in the planning stages for the Shawnee expansion and hasn’t announced an estimated date for service availability.
