A $2.4 million investment from GoNetspeed has financed upgrades of technology infrastructure in Granby, a small town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts.
With the upgrades, Granby joins the nearby communities of Amherst and Ludlow as towns with access to GoNetspeed’s high-speed, fiber-optic internet services.
According to the internet service provider (ISP), customers of GoNetspeed can expect symmetrical upload and download speeds “ranging from 250 Mbps to 2 gigabits.”
“With the completion of our build in Granby, more residents and businesses gain access to 100 percent fiber internet with advanced technology designed to make the online experience better and faster for working, learning, and streaming from home or work,” said Richard Clark, GoNetspeed’s president and CEO.
Clark’s comments, included in GoNetspeed’s Dec. 3 release, continued. He said the ISP is proud to offer additional options to the Massachusetts broadband marketplace.
“We are thrilled to support Granby with a network built to boost growth opportunities and benefit the community,” Clark said.
Massachusetts is one of nine states where GoNetspeed operates, a summary of the company’s operations stated.
Earlier this fall, more than 3,000 homes and businesses in Middletown, Connecticut became the beneficiaries of a recent investment made by GoNetspeed.
The ISP, one of the largest independent ISPs in the Eastern United States, has been expanding since their partnership with Oak Hill Capital in January 2021. As previously reported, the company has been adding thousands of serviceable locations within their footprint in the years since.
Along with customers in Massachusetts and Connecticut, the provider also serves customers in Maine, Alabama, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and West Virginia.
