GFiber marked the start of its latest local build last week with a groundbreaking in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
The groundbreaking was celebrated by GFiber on Instagram, with a post on August 6.
“We officially broke ground yesterday with our team and partners from Douglas County,” GFiber wrote. “We can’t wait to get to work and connect this amazing community.”
The work is meanwhile part of GFiber’s larger efforts in Colorado.
As a report from the Colorado Sun detailed, construction in Westminster and Wheat Ridge has already begun. Additionally, construction will soon begin in Broomfield, according to the report.
Once work is complete, GFiber will then compete with multiple incumbents in Highlands Ranch for subscribers, including BAM Broadband, Comcast, and Lumen, the Colorado Sun reported.
Highlands Ranch, with a population of over 100,000, is home to the largest homeowner’s association in the nation, the Highlands Ranch Community Association (also known as the HRCA).
According to the Douglas County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC), “Highlands Ranch is a 22,000-acre master-planned community located in the North-West portion of unincorporated Douglas County.”
The community is also described as an “upper-middle class community located 12 miles south of Denver,” according to DCEDC’s website.
