A Georgia city has selected Comcast Smart Solutions to upgrade their lighting infrastructure with smart solutions that are “designed to enhance visibility and connectivity,” according to Comcast Smart Solutions.
The collaboration, announced last week, will impact Tucker’s lighting infrastructure along a public trail and in the city’s park system.
A July 10 release from Comcast Smart Solutions said the effort aims to strengthen security protocols and connectivity with public Wi-Fi access, video analytics, and AI-powered monitoring.
Mike Slovin, the GM of Comcast Smart Solutions, said the partnership will “help create a more connected and responsive environment for city residents and employees.”
The utilized solution will integrate all aforementioned features, plus CCTV functionality and Wi-Fi hotspots, into “high-efficiency light fixtures from smart technology provider Juganu,” according to the July 10 release.
“This installation enables real-time monitoring and provides insights into foot traffic and trail activity, while also providing public internet access,” the release stated. “Together, these capabilities allow Tucker officials to respond more quickly to potential issues, enhance safety efforts, support a connected environment, and use data insights to help inform future updates of the trail system.”
Tucker, located northeast of Atlanta, is described as a community that balances small-town character and forward thinking growth.
The community, incorporated in 2016, also has goals to modernize infrastructure and enhance quality of life, the release from Comcast Smart Solutions stated.
Comcast Smart Solutions said the lighting fixtures would be installed along part of the city’s public trail that leads to Tucker Town Green.
