Fybe, a broadband service provider and a subsidiary of Roanoke Cooperative, is thrilled to announce that it has received four Growing Rural Economies with Access to Technology (GREAT) grants totaling approximately 9 million dollars.
These grants represent a significant investment in the local community, enhancing connectivity and fostering economic development in rural areas. Fybe’s commitment to community involvement is evident in its efforts to bring fiber to the home (FTTH) technology to Martin, Bertie, Halifax, and Hertford counties.
With FTTH technology, Fybe aims to address the digital gap prevalent in rural communities, ensuring that residents have access to reliable and high-speed internet connectivity. By installing broadband infrastructure, Fybe seeks to empower neighborhoods and businesses, thereby creating opportunities for growth and innovation.
“Fybe is proud to be a part of the solution to closing the digital divide in our remote areas,” said Bo Coughlin, COO of Fybe. “We are committed to making sure that every current and future resident in our network is set up for success in
work, telehealth, school and more.”
