A Vermont company that invests in fiber infrastructure says they’ve rolled out a new unprecedented partnership model.

Mac Mountain, which invests in fiber broadband networks and builds long-term partnerships with stakeholders like municipalities, has rolled out a new partnership model they’re calling “one-of-a-kind.”
The model, announced by Mac Mountain earlier this month, will combine Mac Mountain’s strategic investment with a new operational arm called LightCraft that provides design, construction, sales, and management of day-to-day operations.
According to Alex Rozek, the founder and CEO of the Vermont-based company, the model is designed to increase fiber broadband subscriptions and maximize the value providers get out of residential and commercial developments.
“For builders and developers, it ensures occupants have high-performing broadband from day one,” Rozek said. “For service providers, we help increase subscribers through superior operational execution.”
Rozek, who was formerly the Boston Omaha Corporation’s co-CEO, “founded Mac Mountain because he wanted mobile broadband service where he lives in Vermont.”
“One thing led to another and here we are today,” states a brief bio of Rozek on Mac Mountain’s website.
With Mac Mountain, Rozak’s company now aims to align financial support, industry expertise, and operational resources, a summary of the firm reported.
As part of their work, Mac Mountain “builds long-term partnerships with municipalities, rural electric co-ops, developers, homebuilders and regional ISPs,” according to the company’s website.
‘We enable our partners’
Now, with LightCraft, Mac Mountain will be able to help their partners achieve their visions, said Scott Sampson, the CEO of LightCraft.
“By handling the operational work from design and deployment to ongoing service, we enable our partners to focus on growing subscribers, reducing costs and delivering reliable broadband service to their communities all while ensuring continuous cash flow,” Sampson said.
Mac Mountain’s release said LightCraft will provide expertise with construction, network management, legal, financial, sales, and customer support.
“LightCraft delivers shared services and proven systems that boost efficiency, reduce costs, and help each partner thrive,” Mac Mountain’s Oct. release stated. “Guided by Mac Mountain’s strategic vision, LightCraft streamlines best practices across multiple networks — maximizing growth and delivering reliable connections for homes and businesses.”
According to Rozak, it’s all part of Mac Mountain’s plan to create strategic opportunity to generate recurring financial returns with ongoing cash flow sharing.
“Mac Mountain’s partnership model ensures that builders, developers, and providers — the groups most involved in delivering high-speed broadband — can expand subscribers efficiently, create value and deliver next-generation broadband to the residents and businesses in their communities,” Rozak, via Mac Mountain’s announcement.
