Construction personnel, installation technicians, along with sales, marketing, and community engagement associates, will all be needed as Ezee Fiber plans an ambitious expansion of their fiber network in Washington state.

The internet service provider (ISP) announced the planned expansion of their fiber-optic network, backed by a $400 million investment, on Wednesday.

The news follows similar announcements Ezee Fiber has made in other parts of the country.

According to Ezee Fiber’s release, the firm is also pursuing a $200 million network expansion in Houston and a $250 million network expansion in New Mexico.

Ezee’s buildout begins in Kent

Their buildout in Washington will begin in the community of Kent, a city in King County that is also one of the largest in the Seattle metro area.

Ezee Fiber has also established a regional headquarters in Kent, the ISP’s Feb. 4 announcement stated.

With the effort, the company projected the creation of 350 employment options and announced that they’ve already begun posting job opportunities.

Mayor Dana Ralph said Kent is eager to welcome Ezee Fiber.

“The addition of another internet service provider bringing high-speed fiber optic internet infrastructure to everyone in our city will provide another competitive option for residents and elevate the overall market,” Ralph said, according to Ezee Fiber’s release.

Beyond Kent, Ezee Fiber also plans to expand access to their network further across the Puget Sound region.

“I’m proud to bring Ezee Fiber’s award-winning multi-gig internet service to the greater Puget Sound region,” said Matt Marino, Ezee Fiber’s CEO. “Residents and businesses will enjoy a significantly better internet experience driven by Ezee Fiber’s award-winning multi-gig fiber internet and Wi-Fi 7 products.”

Comments from Eddie Abreu, the GM of Ezee Fiber’s Pacific Northwest regional operations, said Ezee’s large investment “demonstrates a long-term commitment to the community.”

“Our network build will cover neighborhoods, condo and apartment buildings, master-planned communities, small and large businesses, schools, and municipal facilities,” Abreu said, according to Ezee’s announcement. “Residential customers will have access to multi-gig, low-latency fiber internet with symmetrical upload and download speeds up to 8 gig.”
