A broadband construction firm has made a play to expand their service footprint by acquiring Delta Fiber, which is also based in Louisiana.

According to EPC, the company behind the acquisition, their decision to acquire Delta Fiber was a strategic move.

Delta Fiber will be maintained as a wholly owned separate operating company from EPC, their announcement stated.

EPC’s CEO, Caleb Etheridge, praised Delta Fiber’s reputation in comments included with EPC’s release.

“Delta Fiber has earned the trust of its customers and communities by doing things the right way,” he said. “That’s exactly the kind of team we want to walk alongside.”

Etheridge said the acquisition strengthens both companies, giving them a combined mission.

“Together, we’re even better positioned to continue building strong connections that last,” Etheridge said.

EPC’s release explained the importance of Delta Fiber’s work.

“Delta Fiber utilizes the latest technology to produce detailed network maps and bills of materials for internet service providers, along with expedient permit acquisition services, the firm enables efficient, accurate, and scalable broadband deployment.”

This isn’t the first time EPC has been in headlines during recent months.

In May, Etheridge announced that EPC had suffered significantly due to delays to the government’s $42.45 billion broadband buildout.

Back in April, EPC reported that they had to release 80% of their subcontractors due to the delay to BEAD. Additionally, the company reported having to make a pause in philanthropic giving and even said full-time employees had begun to face layoffs.
