A multimillion-dollar fiber-network expansion project is now underway in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Dobson Fiber, which operates a network that spans 38 communities in Oklahoma, announced the news this week.

In addition to those communities, the internet service provider (ISP) also serves less than half a dozen communities in Arkansas.

Dobson Fiber’s CEO, Francisco Maella, said Dobson Fiber is excited to get to work in Broken Arrow.

Maella’s comments were included in Dobson Fiber’s release, published on the ISP’s website.

Our network deployments are initially designed to deliver up to 10 gigabits per second to residents we serve. This same network will be capable of delivering 100 gigabits within the next five years,” Maella said. “Our commitment to launching innovative products and the latest technology is unwavering to the residents and businesses we serve.”

Jim Horsburgh, a chief strategy officer for Dobson Fiber, elaborated on Maella’s comments, revealing the scale of Dobson Fiber’s planned expansion project.

“We’re delighted by the overwhelming support from our customers this year and are excited to extend Dobson Fiber’s presence to the majority of homes here in Broken Arrow,” Horsburgh said. “This expansion also has a large impact on local businesses with faster and more reliable connectivity to fuel their growth.”

Broken Arrow, with a population of over 100,000, is located in the Tulsa metro area.

The ISP celebrated the beginning of construction with a groundbreaking attended by city leaders, according to Dobson Fiber’s Dec. 16 release.
