A recent milestone attained by DigitalC was followed up by a $500,000 in-kind donation from GFiber.

GFiber’s donation aims to help the non-profit continue in their mission to reach underserved communities, according to DigitalC.

Last week, DigitalC released a video on YouTube celebrating their six-thousandth household connected in Cleveland.

The non-profit, which uses Tarana’s ngFWA technology to power their citywide network, has been connecting households in the city since 2024, according to the organization’s CEO, Joshua Edmonds.

“This is a love story that just keeps going,” Edmonds said in the company’s recent YouTube video. “We’re orchestrating opportunity for everybody in this city.”

Following the celebration of their milestone, DigitalC also shared more good news. The company released the details about the donation from GFiber in a Tuesday release.

The donation includes next generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) equipment from Tarana, which will allow DigitalC to expand its Canopy home internet service, “a release from DigitalC announced this week.

Within their footprint, DitigalC currently offers symmetrical 100 Mbps internet at affordable rates.

In the release, Edmonds said the donation will add bandwidth to DigitalC’s capacity, allowing them to scale their model for Cleveland.

“This community-based blueprint proves that next-generation technology can be deployed quickly, trusted deeply, and scaled effectively to deliver the superior internet experience more communities deserve,” Edmonds stated.

Notably, Cleveland was once ranked the worst-connected major city in the United States.
