The addition of new multifamily dwellings to the marketplace has placed pressure on existing communities to remain competitive as an appealing place to live. Cox Communications’ new partnership hopes to address that.
Cox Communities, a division of Cox Communications, said in an Oct. 26 announcement that they will be partnering with Level Home Inc., in an attempt to keep a step ahead of demands for emerging smart technology, which is being incorporated into many new multifamily dwelling builds.
The company said the addition of new multifamily dwellings to the marketplace places pressure on existing communities to remain competitive as an appealing place to live.
“Connecting Level’s technology with Cox’s fiber-powered network and 25 years of experience in the multifamily space ensures industry-leading connectivity and speed and gives property owners and renters a fully integrated service experience they won’t find elsewhere,” the company’s statement said.
Vickie Rodgers, vice president of Cox Communities, said they chose to partner with Level because of the company’s reputation for delivering IoT solutions like access, control, energy management, and operational efficiency.
“As the need for smart automation grows, digital enablement is a necessary solution for owners to manage their properties from anywhere. Cox Communities and Level are already accomplishing these solutions through our partnership,” she said.
Cox Communities said their partnership with Level has already resulted in “enhanced solutions” being offered to property owners.
While multifamily builds continue across the United States, the pace of new builds has slowed.
According to the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), multifamily housing starts, consisting of structures with five or more units, fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 388,000 units in September, representing a 26 percent decline from September’s numbers in the prior year.
