Conterra Networks has announced a sale of some fiber assets to Ezee Fiber.
According to Conterra, their fiber assets in the New Mexico communities of Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, and Los Lunas have been sold.
Upon announcing the news, Conterra also shared plans to reinvest the proceeds into network densification efforts.
Additionally, the company will also reinvest into enhancing their service offerings, Conterra’s Dec. 11 announcement stated.
With the purchase, Conterra’s announcement said Ezee Fiber intends to expand fiber internet access in Central and Northern New Mexico.
Craig Gunderson, the president and CEO of Conterra Networks, said the deal will play a crucial role in enabling Conterra to reinvest in the markets they serve.
“We’re excited to work with Ezee Fiber to maximize the potential of our fiber assets,” Gunderson said. “Together, we are driving the growth of high-speed bandwidth in these communities.”
Matt Marino, the CEO of Ezee Fiber, also offered comment in Conterra’s release.
“The acquisition enables Ezee Fiber to significantly accelerate our fiber-to-the-home network deployment in New Mexico, addressing the large and growing consumer demand for high-speed fiber internet service from local, customer-first companies like Ezee Fiber,” Marino said.
According to Conterra’s release, the company remains committed to partnering with other service providers and selling dark fiber in the future.
