WASHINGTON, PA – World Series Tournaments, Inc. and Comcast Business announced a unique collaboration that will enable the entire PONY World Series to be streamed live online, making the 62-year-old competition available worldwide for the first time at www.ponyworldseries.org.

Beginning with the opening game of the 2014 World Series Aug. 8 at Lew Hays PONY Field in Washington Park, World Series Tournaments will use Comcast Business Internet to stream each game free of charge as 10 teams vie to succeed Okinawa, Japan as the next PONY champion.

Free Global Viewing
“For the first time, fans of the 2014 World Series teams will have the opportunity to watch live around the world,” said Bob Gregg, president of World Series Tournaments. “We’ve just seen the reach of PONY Baseball/Softball and the PONY League World Series literally circumvent the globe.”

Comcast Business, which is covering some of the construction costs of the installation to PONY Field, will also provide Wi-Fi service to Lew Hayes PONY Field for the first time.

“Comcast Business is pleased to partner with World Series Tournaments to make it possible for family, friends and fans around the world to enjoy the drama of the PONY World Series wherever they have Internet access,” said Dave Dombroski, vice president of Comcast Business in the Keystone Region. “We look forward to our Comcast Business Internet connection, delivered over our proprietary network, becoming an integral part of the World Series experience both online and for media and fans at the field via our Xfinity WiFi hotspot.”

With the cooperation of Mayor Brenda Davis, Councilman Terry Faust of the City of Washington, which owns Washington Park, and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce/Tourism Promotion Agency, Comcast and Tournaments, Inc. are completing equipment installation and service activation this week.

Comcast Business will also provide World Series Tournaments with 24/7 Business Class customer support, Cloud Services by Microsoft, a comprehensive set of security tools via the Norton Business Suite and Web hosting support – all at no additional cost.

With these new delivery services in place, the performance of the World Series’ official social media sites will be enhanced and the sights and sounds of the annual World Championship event will no longer be limited to those at the park and within range of local radio broadcasts.
