Bossier City is ready to welcome a new provider as Comcast embarks on a significant expansion in the area.
The company has invested more than $19 million into the project, which it expects to complete by the end of 2026.
According to Ronnie Colvin, Comcast’s Senior Director of External Affairs, the infrastructure installation is about halfway finished. Additionally, some parts of Bossier City will see new services launching this year, according to a report by KEEL 101.7 FM.
Comcast’s expansion in Bossier City is part of a broader effort to reach underserved communities and offer a range of internet packages catering to different income levels. Entry-level internet service starts at $14.95 per month, with a simplified pricing package that includes a five-year price guarantee.
Expansion effort reaches other communities
The company’s expansion extends beyond Bossier City, with investments into neighboring Caddo Parish. This earlier phase was supported by a $304,000 grant from Louisiana’s GUMBO program alongside a $2 million contribution from Comcast, aiming to connect nearly 1,000 homes and businesses with fiber-rich broadband networks. These newer networks offer scalable internet speeds between 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps, supporting business needs and residential use.
According to Colvin’s comments in the KEEL 101.7 FM report, Comcast has begun supporting local events in Bossier City such as the Red River Balloon Rally and the Highland Jazz & Blues Festival. In a notable highlight from July 2025, Comcast also sponsored the Red River Balloon Rally and lit the Bakowski Bridge of Lights in Bossier City, marking its presence with branded experiences and showcasing its ongoing investment, which has surpassed $25 million and connected over 8,000 homes in the city.
