June 11, 2026 — The Philadelphia Union is hoping to take a leap into the future thanks to their partnership with Comcast Smart Solution.

The partnership, according to Comcast Smart Solutions, is transforming Subaru Park and the adjacent WSFS Bank Sportsplex into a smart campus designed to elevate fan experience, safety, and sustainability.

The newly announced initiative introduces advanced electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and AI-powered smart lighting systems aimed at creating a seamless, connected environment from the parking lot to the pitch, the company said June 11.

“Our goal is to deliver the best matchday experience in Major League Soccer, and that starts the moment fans arrive,” said Tim McDermott, president of the Philadelphia Union. “Comcast’s integrated approach to smart technology and connectivity simplified the process and enabled us to create a more connected, innovative, and welcoming environment for all our visitors.”

At the heart of this transformation is Comcast Business’s Metro Ethernet network, which provides the scalable bandwidth necessary to power data-intensive smart solutions throughout the campus, the company says.

On the EV charging front, Level 2 chargers have been installed at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex on an open protocol platform, potentially opening new revenue streams for the club.

Lighting across Subaru Park’s parking lots is also getting a high-tech upgrade with over 300 Juganu smart light fixtures, including 100 equipped with AI video analytics. The fixtures double as CCTV cameras and provide real-time monitoring for traffic, parking, and safety, while also offering public Wi-Fi access, Comcast Smart Solutions said.
