Three communities in Orange County, California are now included within Cityside Fiber’s growing footprint, the internet service provider (ISP) recently announced.
An announcement last week listed Irving, Lake Forest, and Mission Viejo as communities with neighborhoods that have recently gained access to Cityside’s network.
Additionally, Cityside’s release said the ISP will continue to develop more service areas in the communities that were already within their footprint: Tustin, North Tustin, and Dana Point.
James Mai, the vice mayor of Irvine, called the announcement a “game changer.”
“An investment in modern, quality infrastructure like fiber internet drives local growth and attracts new businesses to the region, thereby supporting a dynamic and competitive local economy that benefits my city of Irvine and Orange County as a whole,” Mai also said.
The ISP celebrated the news earlier in February with a ribbon cutting, and also recently announced that construction would begin in Laguna Hills this spring.
Rod Hanson, CEO of Cityside Fiber, released comments included with Cityside’s Feb. 21 announcement.
“Bringing our service to these communities is an exciting step toward our goal of providing an internet experience that is best-in-class – and best in Orange County,” Hanson stated. “Access to high-speed, reliable internet isn’t a luxury – it’s necessary for education, business, healthcare, and more. Our network helps Orange County residents have the connection they need to stay competitive, informed, and connected to what matters most to them.”
