The City of Ruston and RightFiber, a brand of Ritter Communications, have reached terms on a deal that would see RightFiber acquire Ruston’s citywide fiber network.

The agreement on final terms, announced by RightFiber last month, is expected to close in Q1 of 2025, according to RightFiber’s announcement.

Ruston Mayor Ronnie Walker called RightFiber a dedicated municipal partner that is committed to growth in Ruston, a community of about 22,000 residents in Lincoln Parish.

“RightFiber’s personal approach and future-minded vision set them apart as a service provider,” Walker said in comments included with RightFiber’s release.

Ruston is also known as the home to Louisiana Tech University, part of the University of Louisiana’s system of schools.

Additionally, Kyle Keith, a CRO for Ritter Communications, said Ritter is honored to support Ruston’s economic growth.

“The City of Ruston has taken proactive steps in planning for the growing need for top-tier fiber broadband,” Keith said. “The decision to engage with RightFiber demonstrates their strategic foresight even further, which is focused on the growth and prosperity of their residents.”
