The deadline for entries to the Broadband Communities Awards, to be awarded this June in Houston, has been extended to April 25.

Entries for this year’s Broadband Communities Awards will now be accepted until Friday, April 25.
Here’s a closer look at the formalized categories to be awarded this June on Day 3 of Broadband Communities Summit 2025.

Broadband Provider of the Year Award
Open to any ISP or service provider who identifies the end consumer as their customer. We are looking for the organization that can demonstrate attributes including outstanding customer service, innovative product packages and offerings and imaginative partnerships with communities.
Property of the Year Award
Open to property developers, owners, managers and other housing providers who have developed, renovated or upgraded a residential or mixed-use property with a focus on technology to enhance the experience of residents and users.
Multifamily Partner of the Year
The winner of this award will be determined exclusively by the panel of judges who may consider candidates that have impressed them in the past year, however the industry is invited to nominate individuals from any organization who have moved forwards the cause of connectivity in the multifamily sector.
Customer Experience Award
Open to all ISP’s and telecom service providers, the winner will be the organization that proves to have the best all-round experience for its customer whilst enhancing the trust bonds with its customers in an increasingly digital world.
Digital Divide Award
This will be awarded to the organization who has done the most to reduce the digital divide at community, municipality, or state level through a standout program or series of programs to reduce the digital divide, including but not limited to the access divide and the use divide.
Rural Connectivity Award
This is open to ISP’s, communities and municipalities who identify their main market as rural. The judges will look for innovative initiatives to improve connectivity for a rural location.
Startup of the Year Award
Open to any organization formed since Jan 1st, 2020 with less than 50 employees and revenue of less than $1M per annum who serves the telecom, community or multifamily sector and whose business relies on or enhances connectivity. The winner will be determined by a live pitch at BBC Summit.
Technology Partner of the Year Award
This is open to vendors, systems integrators, network designers and other technology partners who have demonstrated outstanding performance in partnering with a service provider or community to complete a project.
Tribal Lands Award
This will be awarded to the organization deemed to have done the most to provide modern telecommunications services to tribal lands.
Wireless Initiative Award
Open to suppliers and service providers who have created an innovative wireless solution to provide broadband to a location not easily served by a fixed solution.
Workforce Development Award
This award will recognize an initiative or series of initiatives that are addressing the shortage of people to build America’s future networks.
Community Improvement Award
This is open to operators and public-sector organizations who can demonstrate a project that brings a community together and delivers a demonstrable improvement, for example creating employment opportunities, a social based project, technology for good etc.

As with previous years, entries for the awards remain free in 2025. Individuals and entities can also lodge nominations in as many categories as they like, as was the case last year.
The awards ceremony, which this year is sponsored by Verizon, has been a key part of the Broadband Communities Summit since 2004.
