Approximately 43,000 addresses across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky are slated to be added to altafiber’s multi-gig XGS-PON fiber network network.
Construction on the network expansion efforts is expected to begin next year, according to altafiber’s recent announcement.
The provider, which represents Cincinatti Bell’s branded internet offerings, announced locations where construction would occur.
In Ohio, altafiber will begin construction next year in Eaton, Greenville, Washington Court House, and Wilmington. Meanwhile, in Indiana, construction will begin in Richmond, and in Kentucky, construction will begin in Carrollton.
Currently, altafiber’s network runs for more than 16,000 miles across the Midwest and the company has invested $2 billion in its fiber network, according to altafiber’s release.
In comments included with altafiber’s release, Jason Praeter, the president of altafiber’s consumer and small business division, said the connectivity that altafiber providers is essential for healthcare and educational opportunities.
“Gigabit connectivity is essential for individuals and families to fully participate in the modern economy,” Praeter said. “We are excited to continue our expansion and deliver an outstanding customer experience while fully engaging with these communities.”
