A network expansion being undertaken by Brightspeed has afforded access to thousands of residents and establishments across multiple communities in Ohio’s Trumbull County.

So far, North Carolina-based Brightspeed says they’ve extended access to over 28,000 locations in the county, including over 19,000 that are ready for service in Warren.

“In addition to expanding high-speed internet access, Brightspeed is investing in the long-term success of the communities it serves,” the ISP’s announcement this week stated. “Across Ohio, the company has invested more than $270,000 to support local organizations and initiatives.”

Over $125,000 of that sum is being contributed to organizations and institutions in Warren alone.

The contributions, which were extended through partnership with entities like the Warren G. Harding High School and Valley Spotlight, demonstrate Brightspeed’s deep commitment to the communities it serves, according to the ISP.

Brightspeed also announced that thousands of locations are also ready for service in Champion, Howland Township, and Vienna Township.

All are located within Trumbull County.

In addition, Brightspeed said their network build in the county will extend new economic avenues for residents.

The ISP’s release noted that currently less than 40 percent of Ohio’s population has access to fiber internet.

“That means that more than 6 in 10 residents cannot purchase a fiber internet plan, preventing the kind of connectivity they need to thrive in today’s economy,” Brightspeed’s release stated. “By the end of Brightspeed’s full buildout, nearly 34,000 locations across Trumbull County will have access to Brightspeed’s fiber network, opening up new opportunities for remote workers, families, entrepreneurs and small businesses.”
