Work has already begun on a fiber-optic cable extension that will bring high-speed internet to Yukon, Oklahoma, according to Bluepeak.

The company, which is engaged in an ongoing buildout across Oklahoma, did not disclose the size of the investment but said it represented millions of dollars, according to their May 21 announcement.

With their release, Bluepeak said engineering and pre-construction efforts are already completed in the community.

Rich Fish, the CEO of Bluepeak, said the community at-large has made it well known that better internet options are “long overdue.”

“We’re proud to partner with the city and support their vision for progress with fiber internet that’s fast, reliable, and built to power business growth and new opportunities,” Fish said, according to Bluepeak’s release.

When construction is complete, residents can expect residential packages ranging up to 5 gigabits per second. Business packages ranging up to 10 gigabits per second and beyond will also be available, according to Bluepeak.

Bluepeak’s release said Oklahoma remains a priority focus for the company.

Meanwhile, in addition to Yukon, Bluepeak is engaged in construction projects in Okmulgee, Muskogee, Cushing, Lawton, Bartlesville, Shawnee, Stillwater, and Midwest City, the provider’s release stated.
