AUSTIN, TX – AT&T and home builder PulteGroup announced an agreement to offer AT&T U-verse with GigaPower over a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network to four currently open-for-sale, single-family communities and five existing communities in the Austin area.
With the agreement, AT&T will offer its cutting-edge U-verse broadband, TV and voice services on an advanced, all-fiber network to the PulteGroup communities in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville and Leander. When completed, the developments will include nearly 3,000 homes.
AT&T launched U-verse with GigaPower in December. Sales of the ultra-fast broadband service have exceeded expectations. AT&T provides the fastest broadband service available to Austin customers – up to 300 Mbps downstream and upstream – and plans to increase speeds to up to 1 Gbps later this year.
Providing Next-generation Communications/Entertainment to Homebuyers
The agreement with PulteGroup is part of a strategic marketing initiative to provide next-generation communications and entertainment solutions to homebuyers and residents. AT&T makes the agreements with national and regional single-family builders, developers, real estate investment trusts, apartment ownership/management groups, and homeowners’ associations. Residents of the select Austin-area PulteGroup communities can choose to purchase the bundle of AT&T services for use in their homes, and AT&T also will provide free services in some public spaces.
In addition to active development communities the agreement also covers existing PulteGroup communities Ashbrook, Blackhawk, Cantara, Teravista and Westview Meadows.
Tens of thousands of customer locations in Austin and the surrounding area have access to AT&T U-verse with GigaPower, including parts of Bastrop, Cedar Park, Dripping Springs, Jollyville, Lakeway, Leander, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. Within Austin, the services are available in neighborhoods such as Bryker Woods, Cherrywood, French Place, Mueller, Old Enfield, and Tarrytown. Planned expansions in 2014 include areas of Zilker, Homestead, and North Lamar, among many other neighborhoods.
