Flight Fiber, considered Antietam Broadband’s ‘next generation’ of fiber-to-the-home deployment, will be available to residents in Maryland’s Carroll County this year thanks to a $32 million investment, according to the firm.

Maryland’s Carroll County communities of New Windsor, Union Bridge, Taneytown, and Eldersburg will be the first area communities to have access to Flight Fiber, while Antietam Broadband continues to expand services throughout the county, according to a recent announcement from the company.

Services from the company in Carroll County will begin being offered in early 2024, Antietam Broadband’s Feb. 27 announcement stated.

The company said their network construction efforts, which are backed by a $32 million investment from Antietam Broadband, will reach “residents and businesses in both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.”

Currently, Antietam Broadband’s Flight Fiber broadband service is available in areas within Hagerstown, Boonsboro, and Sharpsburg. According to a summary of the company’s operations, Flight Fiber’s network will also expand into Washington County in 2024.

Tony Heaton, the president and general manager of Antietam Broadband, said his company is “excited to provide choice to Carroll County.”

“Flight Fiber is 100 percent fiber-to-the-home, blazing fast, and is an affordable and secure solution that matches what consumers are looking for in a broadband provider,” he said, according to comments included in the company’s announcement.

Antietam Broadband claims to offer unlimited data with enhanced security and reliability, affordability, and no contracts, according to the company’s release.
