TAK Broadband has acquired Southern California telecommunications contractor Gulbranson Services, Inc. (GSI) from its founder Bob DeLaHoussaye, the company announced today.

GSI, founded in 2005 and based in Victorville, provides drop bury, maintenance and fiber-to-the-home construction services, primarily serving Riverside and San Bernardino counties. TAK said the purchase will extend GSI’s operations across all of Southern California and bolster TAK’s California presence by adding an experienced drops and construction team.

TAK is a national provider of fiber and broadband network services and on-premises technology deployment, offering last-mile connectivity and other services to the broadband and telecommunications industry. The deal fits with TAK’s stated strategy of expanding its service footprint and capabilities in key regional markets.

Private equity firm Platinum Equity, which acquired TAK in March 2024, framed the transaction as part of a broader plan to diversify TAK’s customer base.

In a joint statement, Platinum Equity executives said the broadband services market is “highly fragmented” and indicated further organic growth and additional acquisitions are likely.

“Part of our investment thesis with TAK is to pursue accretive tuck-in acquisitions that help diversify the company’s customer base and increase its reoccurring revenue,” said Co-President Jacob Kotzubei and Managing Director Dan Krasner. “GSI helps advance the ball on both fronts.”
